Dental Implants

Even after replacing a lost tooth with a crown, bridge, or denture, your bite may be less stable and your jaw may start to change shape.

At Dental Solutions in Warsaw, IN, dental implants support lifelike restorations that are as stable as natural teeth and prevent jaw atrophy.

Intrigued? We'll guide you through why Dr. William B. Stofer recommends implant dentistry to address tooth loss.

What Are Dental Implants?

Though you likely don't think about your tooth roots often, they're essential for your bone health. For those missing teeth, we can place an implant, or titanium post, into your gum and jaw. It functions like tooth roots do, supporting your abutment and lifelike porcelain restoration. Depending on your needs, implants can secure crowns, bridges, or dentures.

An Advanced Solution with Many Benefits

Restored Function

Dental implants replace tooth roots. They are inserted directly into the jawbone in order to give your restorations virtually the same level of stability as your natural teeth, allowing you to speak clearly and chew any foods you like.

Bone Retention

Following tooth loss, your body will begin to lose bone tissue from the jaw. Over time, the jaw will shrink and change shape, which will affect your bite and your facial features. Implants provide the stimulation necessary to prevent bone loss.

Long-Lasting Benefits

With a good oral care routine at home, paired with biannual visits to our Warsaw, IN, dentist, your implants can last the rest of your life. However, crowns, bridges, and dentures will eventually need to be replaced.

Improved Appearance

Implants and the attractive restorations we provide to patients produce obvious cosmetic benefits, such as closing large gaps caused by tooth loss. They also prevent bone loss in the jaw, which contributes to a sunken facial appearance.

Superiority to Removable Dentures

Implant-supported restorations are remarkably durable and strong. Dental implants can support partial and full dentures, minimizing slippage for individuals missing a large number of teeth. They typically offer superior comfort and confidence to traditional alternatives.

The Types of Dental Implants Available at Dental Solutions

To meet the individual tooth loss needs of each patient who visits our Warsaw, IN, dentistry practice, Dr. Stofer offers two unique types of implant care:

Traditional Dental Implants

Starting with your consultation, Dr. Stofer takes a unique approach to every case, allowing him to truly customize your treatment — and your results. If you have sufficient bone tissue or if you've completed grafting, we can place your implants. He uses titanium implants and custom-made restorations to address problems from tiny gaps in your smile to complete tooth loss.

All-on-4 Dental Implants

Many patients missing a complete arch of teeth who also have low jawbone density can enjoy the benefits of an implant-supported restoration with the help of All-on-4®. Using four strategically placed implants to support a lifelike denture, All-on-4 allows patients to skip the bone grafting or sinus lift usually needed to restore their candidacy for implant treatment.

Hands down the best dental professionals available anywhere. No fluff, just fact. I was referred by a friend after my dentist retired. The dental care I have received from Dr. Stofer, Brenda, Tammi and the entire team has far exceeded my expectations. I don’t know that I would say I enjoy going to the dentist now, but I almost do!

What Should I Know About Implant Cost and Payments?

Dr. Stofer and our Warsaw team are happy to discuss price estimates and payment options for dental implants during your consultation.

Dentist and patient discussing care

Cost Factors

Each implant treatment plan is completely custom, so costs vary from patient to patient. Your final price will depend on factors like the total number of implants, your restoration, and supplementary procedures like tooth extraction.

Insurance Eligibility

Typically, crownsbridges, or dentures can be eligible for insurance coverage. Implants and sedation, on the other hand, are usually considered elective and are not covered.

Payment Options

For any costs insurance doesn't cover, you can use cash or most major credit cards. We also accept reputable CareCredit® financing to help you afford treatment. It breaks up the cost of treatment into more affordable monthly installments.

We offer sedation and financing to overcome common hurdles that hold patients back from restoring their smiles.

Implant Placement

The implant, consisting of a small titanium post, is implanted within the jawbone at the site of the missing tooth. The implant acts as a root for the tooth and supports a dental prosthetic.

Abutment

A connector piece called an abutment will need to be attached to the top of each dental implant. The gums will need about two weeks to heal before your final visit.

Permanent Restoration

One last appointment will be needed to place a permanent dental prosthetic atop the post. We will design an all-porcelain crown, bridge, or denture that closely resembles the look of your natural teeth.

Have You Lost Bone Tissue We Offer Bone Grafting in-House

Since healthy bone growth is stimulated during the chewing action, missing teeth can result in the atrophy and loss of bone. For this reason, bone grafting or a sinus lift may first need to be performed for some individuals in order to sufficiently strengthen their bone tissue before an implant is placed.

Fortunately, Dr. Stofer offers both bone grafting and sinus lift treatment in-house, so that you can trust the same Warsaw team for all your care. If you are unsure about these supplementary procedures, in some cases, our patients can receive All-on-4® dental implants to restore their smile instead.

How Can I Stay Calm? Easy — We Feature Sedation Dentistry

At Dental Solutions in Warsaw, IN, we understand that a trip to the dentist can cause anxiety in some patients. To help nervous patients remain calm at every stage of their implant procedure, we offer a range of sedation options, including:

Light Sedation

Nitrous oxide, also known as laughing gas, is administered through a nose mask and helps achieve a state of relaxation when inhaled. Easily controlled and safe enough for use on children, the effects of nitrous oxide wear off quickly as soon as the mask is removed. This allows patients the freedom to drive themselves home after their procedure.

Moderate Sedation

The next level of sedation provided by Dr. Stofer is oral conscious sedation. A prescription medication you take before your appointment, oral conscious sedation may make some patients drowsy. Because the effects of oral conscious sedation last longer than treatment, patients will need someone to drive them to and from their implant appointment.

Deep Sedation

Intravenous (IV) sedation offers patients a level of relaxation that puts them in a twilight state. This allows patients with extreme anxiety the ability to undergo much-needed dental care to improve their state of oral health. Some patients may not remember their time in the dentist's chair with deep sedation. Like moderate sedation, patients receiving IV sedation will need to arrange transportation to and from their appointment at Dental Solutions.
